Golden Opportunity for IRISHTV presenter

Golden opportunity for IRISHTV presenter

Filming in New York City and Washington DC during the St. Patrick's week this year is definitely one of my top career highlights! It was an opportunity of a lifetime to film at one of the world's largest St. Patrick's Day parades and it was also a huge honour to film in the iconic Oval Office with An Taoiseach Enda Kenny and US President Barack Obama.

IRISHTV is a pioneering media company who are always pushing out the boundaries and we are always trying to reach out to the Irish Diaspora, and while filming in the USA I got to meet many of that Diaspora who always love to hear stories from home. It was a pleasure to chat to Kieran McLoughlin, CEO of the Ireland American Fund, who do a huge amount of good work for charities, hospitals and SMEs here at home.

While the weather was incredibly cold New York City and Washington DC, the warm welcome of the American and Irish American people certainly made up for it but alas my week stateside couldn't last forever and it was time to pack up the cameras and suitcases and head for the green fields of home.

All the American footage and behind the scenes action can be viewed on both www.mayotv.ie and www.irishtv.ie
